About Us:

Samantha is from the Philippines and works as a Theatre Nurse at The Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.  She developed an early love for poetry, writing her own from the age of ten, and has had a collection published.  With an equal love for music, she plays keyboards and composes and performs her own songs.  Her likes are wide and varied including: singing, caramel, art, dogs, nature, praying, a good walk, hand-written letters, kind people and many more things that she draws inspiration from.

Sam - Lead Vocals

“The only escape from the miseries of life are music and cats.”

 - Albert Schweitzer

Chris - Rhythm guitar and vocals John - Lead guitar and vocals

Influenced from a young age by family members playing in bands, Chris picked up the guitar and never looked back.  A big fan of country and blues music - by too many artists to list - Chris has gigged extensively in pubs and clubs around West Cornwall.  When he’s not adding to his collection of guitars, amplifiers, and all things gear-related, he likes to spend time with his family, usually in his camper van and somewhere near a beach.

John is the unashamed control-freak in the band, slaving away in his home studio most days writing and recording his own songs and laying down backing tracks for the trio.  He bought his first guitar in 1965 and soon formed 'The Trane' which enjoyed a lot of success in the Warwickshire area with their own brand of blues/rock/soul.  Addicted to live performance, John has formed numerous notable bands over the years, including 'Sugarcane', ‘Blues Deluxe’, ‘The Skyline Band', and ‘The Phoenix Trio’, culminating in the present lineup, ‘Blue River ’.  He’s addicted to guitars and says he has ‘about twenty’!

“If you make a mistake on the guitar, do it again in the next verse and people will think you meant it.”

 - Chet Atkins
